King of Prussia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 11/03/2016 --ImageFIRST, the national healthcare linen and laundry specialists, have established themselves not only as a valuable vendor partner to healthcare providers seeking to improve patient satisfaction, but also as a company that consistently makes a difference in the communities they serve. ImageFIRST's second annual Community Giving Day was held on October 7th, a fitting celebration for a company that participates in dozens of charitable activities each year and keeps community giving at the heart of its purpose.

On October 7th, the ImageFIRST corporate office spent the day at the Share Food Program in Philadelphia. The Share Food Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to relieving hunger for low-income residents. Started 30 years ago, the nonprofit now serves more than 600,000 people in the Philadelphia area, 40% of whom are children. The Share Food Program felt like the perfect opportunity for ImageFIRST's efforts as the theme of this year's Community Giving Day was "Care and Connect."

Closing the office for the day, more than 25 associates volunteered their time by organizing, boxing and preparing food items for delivery. The ImageFIRST team managed to pack 1,200 boxes - some 36,000 lbs. of food - onto 30 pallets in one day. After each pallet was shrink-wrapped, associates celebrated by ringing a cowbell, as a nod to their remarkable mascot, Violet the Purple Cow.

The ImageFIRST team was elated to be able to help put food on the table of families in their local community during their own special corporate holiday. Nearly a dozen other ImageFIRST locations across the nation participated in the event.
