Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWire) -- 12/07/2016 --How can the outcome of transformation become more accessible in the face of obstacles like bullying, mental illness, and death? Acclaimed Musical Theater Lyricist, Composer and Director Michael Sottile shares "how tos" of transformation in a December 9 episode of "Turn the Page."

Since the age of three, when he acquired his first piano, musical theater lyricist, composer, and director Michael Sottile was drawn to making emotions and uncomfortable issues more accessible through melody. With an intimate understanding and empathy born of his personal experiences, Michael's work reaches into the universal themes of suffering, self-discovery, growth, spirituality, and ultimately, transformation. In discussing three key stages of his life story, he provides guidance on living with obstacles, figuring out how to overcome them, and making choices such that both clarity and belief emerge. Michael touches on topics like bullying, death and mental illness, lifted by the forgiveness and healing that creative self-expression, spiritual practice and relationships can generate.

Michael Sottile has collaborated on over twenty Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. His original musicals include "Oh, Well," "Derin Brockovich," "JOAN," (co-written with two-time Grammy nominee, Ann Marie Milazzo), "The Snowman in the Dunes," and the critically acclaimed "INAPPROPRIATE," a musical based upon the journal entries and poetry of teenagers. Michael's new musical, "One Day", is being produced by Scott Prisand ("Rock of Ages" & "Legally Blonde"), Jamie Bendell ("A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder") & Big Block Theatricals ("Heathers"). Currently he is composing music and lyrics for a feature film, as well as a virtual reality experience, of a modern-day "A Christmas Carol" and is creating and writing a new musical based on mental illness that is headed to Broadway in 2018. The New York Times has called his work "brilliant and positively transporting," and the New York Post has praised him as "highly original and an artist to watch."
