Watthana, Bangkok -- (SBWire) -- 12/07/2016 --Local Hack Day is the single largest day of student hacking in the world, held at 130 locations around the world. This first ever Local Hack Day in Thailand was held on the 3rd of December 2016. Sertis, a leading data science and big data consulting firm, was one of the key sponsors of the event. Student teams competed in a mini-hackathon that lasted for 12 hours. More than 50 people attended the event. Sertis software engineering team was a guest speaker and gave a talk on the topic of 'Why do we code'. The two-winning teams were 'Touch You' and 'Pizza Developer.'

Touch You created Android Application for a customizable wireless keyboard that allows users to adjust keyboard functionalities to suit their preference. Pizza Developer created 'PrintAt,' a service that allows you to conveniently print from anywhere. Customers can upload their files to the cloud and order to have the files printed at a chosen store.

This event allowed Thai youth to learn, collaborate and share their work with other students around the world. As a leading technology consulting company, Sertis sponsored the event with the aim of supporting the development of student software engineers in Thailand.
