Cupertino, CA -- (SBWire) -- 12/08/2016 --Two 5th grade girls, Rutvi and Sania are two fun, music and technology-loving duo with a mission to expose and educate more girls about technology, have recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, to help build support and raise funds for their cause. The duo aims to encourage girls like them to learn about technology and destroy the preconceived notions about what girls can do. Rutvi and Sania require funds to spark their project to life, the crowdfunding campaign has a funding goal of at least $3000 in next 40 days.

The Duo's initiative will be focusing on girls of color, who are usually overlooked and end up missing out on their potential and opportunities in the tech industry as a whole. Talking about the root of the problem, Sania said, "GIRLS. What's the first thing we think about them? Probably some barbie dolls or Rapunzel in a tower saying, "Save me, my hero. I'm helpless!". People think girls are "helpless". We want to change that. It all started when we saw a bunch of boys clustered in the tech lab and only a few girls. We were part of those few girls and we felt like we didn't exactly belong there. We're here trying to share the message that we're here to help encourage those passionate girls to dream big!"

Both Sania and Ruvti are passionate about technology, however, the low number of women, and girls of color in particular in the Silicon Valley and the tech industry as a whole. They believe this problem exists not because women lack in intelligence, knowledge or skill, rather due to the lack of encouragement, discrimination and education. The duo wants to address this problem at the grass root level by encouraging young girls around the world to get involved in technology and dream big.

Sania and Ruvti want the online crowd to help them bring along the chance they want to see. They will be showing their gratitude towards all those who make monetary contributions through specially designed rewards and perks.
