Albany, NY -- (SBWire) -- 12/14/2016 --Fuel Dispenser Market: Overview

Increasing energy demand coupled with new oil and gas discoveries (shale gas), and technologies giving rise to alternate fuels (Biofuel) have a direct affect on the fuel dispenser market. Increasing population resulting in demand for infrastructure has laid an additional impact on the development of the fuel dispenser market. According to the US Census Bureau (2014) there were around 121,446 gas stations in the United States. Another factor that can affect the number of fuel stations is the increase in the number of vehicles. According to a report from the Wards Autorelease the number of cars (Global) has increased from 980 million in 2010 to 1.0515 billion in 2011. With this staggering increase in the number of vehicles the number fuel stations are likely to increase to cater the fuel requirement of these motor vehicles.

Fuel Dispenser Market: Segmentation

Segmentation of the fuel dispenser market can be done on the basis of technology, design applications and location of major fuel dispenser manufacturing companies. On the basis of technology fuel dispensers are broadly classified as submersible type fuel dispensers and suction type fuel dispensers. Submersible fuel dispenser depends on a submersible pump for its operations and if there is any problem in the submersible pump all the dispensers will stop working. The suction type fuel dispenser on the other hand has a separate motor and suction system present inside a casing in each fuel dispenser and can work independently unlike the submersible type of fuel dispensers. Suction type of fuel dispensers are much more advanced than submersible type of fuel dispensers.

However, generally submersible types are preferred over the suction types due to less installation and maintenance cost. On the basis of design the fuel dispensers are divided into two parts an electronic head containing an embedded system and mechanical system containing pumping units and motors. On the basis of applications the fuel dispensers can be classified as petrol/gasoline, diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), compressed hydrogen (CH), HCNG (a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquid hydrogen (LH2) and biofuels systems. Fuel stations are majorly used to provide gasoline and diesel to the motor vehicles. As per the US Census Bureau regular gasoline contributes to around 50% of total fuel sales followed by diesel with around 15%.

Fuel Dispenser Market: Region-wise Outlook

Regional segmentation can be done on the basis of location of major fuel dispenser producing companies. Some major manufacturing companies are located in the United States and Canada (North America), Germany, France and United Kingdom (Europe), China, Japan, Australia and India (Asia Pacific) and Brazil in Rest of World.

New oil and gas discoveries, shale gas boom in the United States, developments regarding alternate fuel generations, increasing population resulting in increased oil and gas demands are the major drivers for the fuel dispenser market. Stringent government regulations related to security, accuracy and safety related to fuel dispensing operations are the major restraints to the fuel dispenser market. Increasing urbanization leading to infrastructure developments and rise in energy demands specially from the Asian countries such as China, Japan and India can provide ample opportunities for the development of the fuel dispenser market.

Some key players in the fuel dispenser manufacturing market are Gilbarco Inc, (subsidiary of Danaher Corporation), Censtar Science and Technology Corporation (China), Tokheim Group S.A.S (France), Dresser Wayne, Tatsuno Corporation (Japan) and Larsen and Toubro (India).
