Waxhaw, NC -- (SBWire) -- 12/23/2016 --The Isabella Santos Foundation is on a mission to rid the world of cancer for good. That was the goal and wish of the brave child that the foundation was started for - Isabella Santos. For almost five years, this little girl defied the odds and battled hard against the disease. Unfortunately, her fight against cancer ended on June 28, 2012. This non-profit organization for children will continue to fight the disease in her honor and for all of the other kids who are battling Neuroblastoma. With last year's event being such a success, the Isabella Santos Foundation has recently announced the date for their 10th Annual Fun Run, which will be Saturday, September 30, 2017.

Over the last eight years, the Isabella Santos Foundation raised over $1,000,000 for Neuroblastoma research and other local charities. They understand that new drugs and therapies that can make dramatic advancements towards a cure are on the horizon. The cure did not arrive in time for Isabella, but this foundation for children with cancer wants to help ensure other families never have to suffer from this horrific loss.

The funds raised by the Isabella Santos Foundation benefits hospitals that specialize in Neuroblastoma research including The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in Manhattan, the Van Andel Institute (VAI) in Michigan, and more. They also raise funds and awareness for charities that impact children with cancer including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, and others.
