Nostalgic Tales out of School, Home, and Farmhouse in New Release

Enumclaw, WA -- (SBWire) -- 01/05/2017 --A new release shares anecdotes from "the schoolhouse, church house, and farmhouse." Home: Three Houses (Redemption Press) by Annette Goggin is a compilation of light-hearted true stories written by a preacher's kid raised on pitch-in dinners and camp meetings.

Annette Goggin highlights the best of stories from her thirty years of teaching high-school English, and introduces the reader to teenagers, many of whom are "good people who are a pleasure to know."

Church stories take readers to camp meetings, nursery hijinks, Sunday school episodes, and happenings in the parsonage and sanctuary from Goggin's perspective as a preacher's daughter. She says, "I am a storyteller. Some stories are too good not to share. I hope they will strengthen people's faith in the goodness of humanity and of God."

The author, who has lived in a farmhouse with her husband for twenty-three years, introduces critters, neighbors, and the mundane events of farm life that "somehow turn out to be funny." Included is Goggin's story of trying to decipher which 4-H pig was hers in an arena of look-alikes. "My main concern was staying with the pig I came with, an idea that can be applied with wisdom to many situations in life."

Fellow educator, Shirley Carmony, says, "Guaranteed to bring you some reminders of important life truths, some smiles, a few laugh-out-loud moments, and a few tears, this collection of short pieces is a delight!"

The stand-alone stories of Home: Three Houses are designed for reading to relax, and are evidence there is still goodness in the world. Goggin hopes readers will "see that goodness with me, crack a smile, and laugh."
