ACT I Announces Phil Simonsen as Senior Executive for Space and Cyber Programs

(ACT I), an industry-leading provider of Total Acquisition Management solutions, announces the addition of Mr. Phil Simonsen, as its space and cyber programs executive. In this role, he is responsible for ACT I's strategic pursuit of new business opportunities with the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Mr. Simonsen is a dynamically-engaged program executive who has managed the entire program life cycle of a broad spectrum of weapon systems and technologies including national signals intelligence (SIGINT) and imagery intelligence (IMINT); satellite and strategic Command and Control (C2); space launch, control, and surveillance; Global Positioning System (GPS) spacecraft; intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs); solid and liquid rocket propulsion; and radar technologies, including many within Interagency and International Agreements. Mr. Simonsen is a proven leader, who most recently led a $17 billion, 5 ACAT I space program portfolio across the acquisition lifecycle spectrum for the NRO. He directed a highly experienced 100-person multi-service, multi-agency government program office, as well as a 200-person engineering support team, and oversaw 5,000 industry partner professionals.

Mr. Simonsen holds a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California; a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama; and a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
