Metro Prague Construction Underway for More Organized Passenger Management

Prague, Czech Republic -- (SBWire) -- 01/23/2017 --The metro in Prague is currently considered as the city's backbone when it comes to transport. Every year, it is lauded for transporting nearly 600 million passengers in and out of the city. Based on this, experts have calculated that all lines of the metro serves an average of more than 1.6 million on a daily basis.

Currently, statistics show that the busiest lines of the metro are the Prague Uprising and the Vysehrad – IP Paviova. Today, the subway system of the city consists of only three lines. It consists of Metro line A, metro line B and metro line C. They are also known by the colors Green, Yellow and Red simultaneously. City inmates have recently appreciated the effort made by the authority to provide easy access for wheel chairs. However, out of a total of 58 stations, it can be used only at 38 stations due to the obsolescent architectural concept at some of the stations. Works are underway to provide for alternatives like stair platforms and elevators. For easy assessment of passenger management, the stations provides for different tickets to passengers of different age groups. Short term tickets are provided to adults up to the age of 15 years. Such tickets last from 30 minutes to 3 days. The long term tickets are made available to adults up to 19 years of age and it lasts from a month to an entire 12 months. Students can avail to student concession by producing an accreditation from the city's ministry of education. Working on the frame work of an integrated transport system, the metro is undertaking measures to make sure that all departments are well organized. On a general basis, the entire metro system of the city is divided into two zones. The first zone is the inner city while the second zone is the outer suburban.
