ImageFIRST National Service Director Shares How Small Changes Have Big Impact on Patient Experience

Miami, FL -- (SBWire) -- 01/27/2017 --ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists' regional vice president and national service director, Jay Juffre, recently shared insights from the hospitality industry with medical providers.

Juffre provided the example of his experience with a hotel staff member to illustrate how medical providers can improve patients' experiences at a facility. During a recent visit to a hotel at which he frequently stays on business, Juffre noticed that the "Front Desk" staff member's title had changed to "Navigator." Accordingly, the staff member escorted Juffre towards the elevators, rather than merely pointing in their direction, and explained the hotel's amenities along the way.

Juffre observed that the change to a creative job title subsequently altered the Navigator's perspective on her role and how it affected the satisfaction of each hotel guest. Furthermore, he drew a parallel between how such a small change affected hotel guest experience and how applying similar changes in a healthcare industry context might boost patients' experiences. As an example, he noted that being greeted by a "Security Guard" may not leave the best first impression, but being greeted by a "Safety Officer," on the other hand, may create a better patient experience overall.
