Talencofeed Has Launched a New Soybean Byproduct That Can Be Used in Various Applications in Aquiculture Feed and Broiler Feed Processing

The company says that they have conducted tests to prove how the product improves fat digestibility in animals.

Shanghai, China -- (SBWire) -- 03/01/2017 --Great news for companies in the soy oil processing industry. Talencofeed, a company involved in soybean processing, has launched a new product. This Soya lecithin Feed Grade is a by-product that is obtained during soybean processing.

The company points out that Soy Lecithin Feed Grade is a fat-like substance and it can be produced from soya bean, rape or sunflower oil. After degumming the oil, lecithin is extracted from the gum and then cleaned. The company further adds that the importance of this by-product stems from the fact that it is used in a number of applications during the course of manufacturing several food and industrial products.

Soy lecithin is also an excellent source of phospholipids or phosphatides that are more particularly useful in Broiler Pre and Starter formulas and in Aquafeeds. In fact, phospholipids are the molecules that make up cell membranes. Lecithin is a complex mixture that mainly consists of 60% phospholipids. Other constituents of lecithin are triglycerides, phosphatidic acid, choline, tocopherols, etc. Soy Lecithin positively impacts a number of metabolic processes, thanks to the presence of phospholipids in it.

Talencofeed further points out that Soya Lecithin products like the Soya Lecithin liquid works as an emulsifier as well which means that it mixes oil and water together. It also plays a role in the splitting and absorption of fat. So the use of lecithin leads to better fat splitting, fat absorption and fat digestion. Due to this, more energy will be available to animals that are fed with it. In short, the technical performance of the animals will significantly improve.

Soy lecithin is a mixture that is mainly based on lecithin and fatty acids. Since Soya lecithin has a high U/S ratio of 4.6, it is highly digestible. Talencofeed says that trials have been conducted to prove the digestibility of their new product. It has been found that this has 0.75% better digestibility than other groups including the group with soya oil, rape seed oil and PFAD.

During the experiments, they have taken into account the U/S ratio of feed formulations because they are aware that different fat sources interact between themselves, says the company. They add that this may influence the digestibility aspect of the fat in the feed. Though there are other factors such as the species of the animals, the age of the animals and their gut health that may affect the digestibility aspect, the fact remains that Soy lecithin feed grade can significantly and positively impact the digestibility of fat in animals that are fed with it, says the company.
