London, England -- (SBWire) -- 03/21/2017 --The BBC has recently reported that four males have been held for longer than two years at Brook House immigration removals centre, with a further twenty three people held for over a year – highlighting how much the average length of detentions have grown.

The average stay at the facility has risen from 28 to 48 days, with some individuals being detained for much longer than this. The Home Office has spoken out and said that they do not wish for people to be detained for longer than necessary, however in some situations they feel the need to. However some are under the impression that people are being held for longer due to delays in immigration decision making.
