Jessica Johnson debuts her new self release “Till it Happens To You” capturing the appetites of those searching for new stimulation. Young only in years this fine tuned vocalist has power in her voice and drive in her heart! Johnson’s vocals are diverse, crisp, and fully injected with strategically-placed moods. Johnson understands and feels the poignant course of a piece. As an intelligent performer, she seems to have the ability to take a new direction with a piece without going too far off the edge… Leon Russell’s “Song for You” is a warm yet gripping interpretation with Johnson allowing herself to grow within the love ballad. A very solid effort among many on this spin! “Till it Happens To You” designed to show the numerous abilities of Johnson -- does what it set out too. We hear different ranges and vocal heights among the selections.

Jessica is no stranger to performing. Johnson began her musical journey at the age of Five. At the age of Eight, she received formal vocal training and at age Twelve she started singing the National Anthem for the San Jose Sharks, which eventually parlayed into singing the National Anthem for additional notable entitles such as: Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, just to name a few.

The Bay Area Vocalist has performed as the opening act for Lani Misalucha and the Society of Seven at the Hollywood Palladium and the opening act for Rose Royce at the Avalon Club in San Jose. Johnson was a featured artist at San Jose Jazz Festival, Shaighnai 1930, Roux, Zingari, Catalina's Jazz Club, Milpitas Summer Concert Series, Fairmont Hotel Lounge, JJ's Blues, Village's Golf and Country Club, Citrus Restaurant, Bleu Ginger, Agenda, San Jose Jazz Festival, Viva's, Hedley Club Lounge, Almaden Wine & Art Festival, Jazz Blues by the Bay in Half Moon Bay, Vasona Vibrations, Alexander's, Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, Kress/Hollywood and the Octavia Lounge.

The San Jose State Junior has garnered an impressive array of awards including winner of San Jose Idol at Music Matrix, Overall Female Vocalist 16-24 World Championships in Hollywood, Marin Star Search, and 8 Double Grands (perfect score) at the California State Talent Competition. In addition, she won the title of California State Teen Ambassador, was a contestant on the Apollo Amateur Night on Tour and was nominated Best New Artist of the year, 2005 by South Bay Entertainment.

"Jessica is definitely no cookie cutter singer; her voice is far superior to even some of the commercial singers who are already established and, at just 23, she is a seasoned vet on the music scene, her bright, vibrant voice reaches all generations." Justin Langston, Sidewalks TV.
