Austin, TX -- (SBWire) -- 09/05/2017 --Amparo Garcia-Crow, a renowned multi-disciplinary American artist from Texas has proudly announced that she is bringing back an original and creative musical to the challenging world of commercial theatre. And to support this effort, her son Alejandro Rose-Garcia (aka SHAKEY GRAVES) known as a 'Gentleman from Texas' whose music is a cross between blues, folk and rock and roll and performs at many large festivals and concert venues across the United States, will perform in STRIP. "She's not just my mama, she's one of the most talented people I know" explains Garcia-Rose who won BEST EMERGING ARTIST AWARD at the Americana Music Awards (2015), "She makes it easy on me...because it's always incredible work!"

Amparo is an actress, singer, director, playwright and songwriter, who has inspired a large number of aspiring artists around her. She has decided to take the community on board for her latest undertaking by launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds and she is welcoming everyone to support her in bringing this amazing upcoming musical play to reality.  "We're bringing the immediacy of stand up meets the written word at the open mike/ hobo pulpit--or for theatre fans, it's the BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE meets GODSPELL at OUR TOWN at the burlesque club for Sunday morning worship."  In the traditional or commercial theater, producing any musical can be a costly endeavor. It often requires lengthy timelines, often public funding, private investors and usually a subscription audience to make it possible. "However, in our case," explains Garcia-Crow, " we have what I believe is the most valuable asset of all which is an eclectic, talented group of performers who all want to push beyond what any of us have known to do comfortably or by rote in the past. We are all taking risks both artistically and professionally in every way possible. And we are trusting (and know) that the true reward of this effort is in the community building and the camaraderie we are experiencing as we discover and witness each other's best work."

The title of this upcoming musical is STRIP! The Musical and an interactive world premiere for this play is set to take place in November, 2017 at Austin, Texas. The non-traditional venue decided for this event is The Austin Film Society's EVENT HALL at the Marchesa and the funds raised through this campaign will help the organizers in securing this venue and transforming it into a vintage club.

In addition, STRIP: The Musical is a creative master work with a sophisticated score by composer Arthur Shane from Los Angeles that involves several great artists and a talented crew. Moreover, the play takes the true stories of Candy Barr, Lenny Bruce and Josephine Baker and tells the 'naked truth' of their heroic tales as one. These are three iconic historical figures each of their stories is equally inspiring and moving.
