"Most companies now have corporate wellness programs, but they are somewhat passive and don't fully engage employees in a healthier lifestyle," said Brian Mikesell. In an interview with Mike Sunnucks of the Phoenix Business Journal, Mikesell stated that many companies offer programs that can result in significant health club discounts for their employees, but those employees really don't know that they have the benefit. "These health plans include perks that provide workers a reimbursement if they visit a club a specific number of times per month." He says United Healthcare's plan is just one example. In the past, the insurance company has reimbursed participants nearly $20 per month as long as the participants visited the club at least a dozen times during that 30-day period.

Companies will also engage with third-party wellness solution providers such as GlobalFit to incentivize employees. "We find that many employees that join Anytime Fitness Gainey Ranch don't realize their employer offers these benefits." The Scottsdale health club owner goes on to say that his gym designs custom strategies for each member and has a number of wellness offerings to help these clients succeed.

Mikesell says that Anytime Fitness has the right resources to partner with companies on corporate wellness. "We are a smaller, more intimate gym than most of our competitors. We get to know each member individually which gives us a much better chance to help them reach their fitness goals. We also partner with companies to help them take full advantage of the wellness resources available to them through insurance and wellness provider programs. By doing so, the wellness program is much more active and present for the employees."

Anytime Fitness Gainey Ranch is now incentivizing the public to take advantage of its latest membership offer. From October 3rd-5th, the health club will be running its "Join for $1" promotion to help members build health habits heading into the holidays. A similar promotion is also be scheduled in January.
