New Release Explores Intersecting Lives and Contemporary Issues

Enumclaw, WA -- (SBWire) -- 10/04/2017 --Characters with personal and ethical dilemmas whose lives intersect inhabit the new fictional release The Train to Chicago (Redemption Press 2017). This third book in Diane Harper's train series highlights God at work in the lives of two couples and explores contemporary Christian relationship issues and intersecting of lives.

Ellen, who deserted her family ten years earlier and has been searching for her two girls, receives a letter from a lawyer saying she has inherited a house in Chicago from a great aunt. Sure it is a scam, she contacts Derek, a lawyer, who is doing community hours at her church for help. Colleen, a widow with young twins, said good-bye to the man she loves because he is not a believer. Ted, a concert pianist, is devastated by the breakup. They will meet again at a friend's wedding and Colleen doesn't know how they will say good-bye again.

Diane Harper, a retired university instructor in music appreciation, employs fiction as a vehicle for sharing the message of God's mercy, grace, and redemption. She says, "A readers must take away from reading fiction more than being amused and entertained. His or her soul must be touched and life changed in some way." Harper has also written a devotional for seniors, Nothing Between, and books one and two in the train series: The Train to Omaha, and The Train to Portland.
