Bucks County Police Chiefs Association Supports District Attorney Matt Weintraub

Bucks County, PA -- (SBWire) -- 10/24/2017 --In a recently issued statement, the Bucks County Police Chiefs Association expressed support for Matt Weintraub in his bid for election as District Attorney for Bucks County Pennsylvania.

"Matt Weintraub has shown the utmost support for the police officers in Bucks County, with the safety and well-being of our citizens as priority one. Matt's innovation and dedication to the criminal justice system and to victims affected by criminal activity has made him one of the great leaders in our county."

Weintraub stated, "During my 25 years as a prosecutor serving as Chief of Bucks County's Narcotics Unit and Chief of Prosecution, I have worked with law enforcement across Bucks County. Together, every day we fight to protect our residents and prosecute dangerous criminals. I am grateful for the support of the Bucks County Police Chiefs Association."

The Chief's Association went on to state, "There is no better individual than Matthew Weintraub, our District Attorney to help promote and ensure that our philosophy continues in Bucks County."

District Attorney Matt Weintraub has been a leader addressing the region's opioid epidemic and fighting for the resources to protect our community. He has participated in numerous town halls and community discussions on the issue. Earlier this year Weintraub created the Six-Detective Strike Force that targets heroin/opioid dealers and trafficking rings. He has co-lead the Push Out the Pusher campaign alongside PA State Representative, John Galloway. Weintraub also continues to champion the highly successful, county-wide, Prescription Drug Take Back program.

Weintraub is particularly passionate about protecting our youth, especially our youngest and most vulnerable. "Ben's Campaign- Lock it up" was born out of a senseless and preventable tragedy which took the life of a 2-year-old Bucks County resident. The Campaign seeks to provide all county gun owners with free gunlocks and distribute gun-safety information for adults and children along with the gun locks.
