Dawn Baird, author of new release Joshua Moves to the Jungle (Redemption Press 2017), relates her own family's cross-cultural experience of moving to Bomili in the rain forest of Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this illustrated children's book, the new culture is experienced through the eyes and experiences of her son, three-year old Joshua Baird. Dawn Baird, along with her husband Bob and three children lived and worked as missionaries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for twenty-five years. The family lived in a mud house with a leaf roof at first and learned to speak Swahili. When an illness in their family forced early retirement, Baird turned to writing and speaking under the banner of Baird Family Adventures.
