"Declaration of Independence for Funding Women Campaign" to Stop the Funding Disparity for Funding Women

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/03/2015 -- Patricia Arquette lit the match at her 2015 Academy Awards acceptance speech. Her timely words speaking out against the severely underserved market of females in business lit a fire around the movement of diminishing the funding disparity that gender diverse companies face.

FundAthena , the world's first SEC Reg A+ marketplace for main street investors to invest growth funds in businesses run by gender diverse companies, is launching the "Declaration of Independence for Funding Women Campaign" to gather thousands of supporters for an outreach to educate and urge Fortune 500 company CEOs, financial service firms, and government leaders to end the disparity in female funding. Additionally, the Declaration will support businesses that are committed to, and practicing, gender diversity in management.

Lead by FundAthena co-founders Rod Turner, previously of Symantec, Ashton Tate and Peter Norton, and serial entrepreneur Kim Folsom, along with organizations as Hera Labs , and the USD College of Business Entrepreneur Program.

"Hera Labs is excited to partner with FundAthena in their 'Declaration of Independence for Funding Women' as it is fully in line with our mission to help women entrepreneurs launch, propel, and grow their businesses," said Silvia Mah, CEO of Hera Labs, a business accelerator for aspiring entrepreneurial women. "We support the Declaration as we see it's potential to strengthen the entrepreneurial community across the country and look forward to transforming public policy and influencing opinion makers through this partnership."

The campaign will run from July 4th through August 31st. The Declaration will be signed on September 8th, the day after Labor Day and the signed Declaration will be on September 30th.
