Don’t Think There’s Anything Funny About Today’s Job Market Mitch Beck Begs to Differ

Monroe, CT -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/23/2012 -- When it comes to Executive Recruiting, Mitch Beck does things a little differently. That’s not surprising. Instead of an advanced degree in Organization Behavior, followed by years toiling for nameless corporations, Mitch’s resume includes two decades as a professional comic and radio personality. So it’s no surprise that when he reinvented himself and formed Crossroads Consulting, LLC he brought along some of his show-biz persona.

Think of him as the Howard Stern of Executive Recruiting. Only this time, the sardonic voice coming out of the speaker wants to locate that one person your company needed yesterday, or the kind of job you know you could do if only someone from HR would listen.

And while his unique sense of humor permeates virtually every aspect of Crossroads Consulting -- the website features a photo of Mitch’s wife, with the description “The CEO of the CEO” -- he is totally sincere when he says “We’re putting the ‘human’ back in Human Resources. In 1996 he created Crossroads Consulting, not just to fill jobs, but to change the recruiting industry and make the job hunting/hiring experience a little less tedious and a little more fun for both job seekers and his client companies.

His off-beat approach has paid off. Business owners marvel at his ability to draw in outstanding candidates, while job hunters get a crash course in how to best market the most important product they will ever sell -- themselves.

“Back when I was in radio,” Mitch remembers, “I knew the only way to stand out from the crowd was to be different than everyone else on the air, so I did. Instead of being mean-spirited and nasty, I was original and creative and made the impossible possible; which is the PC way of saying I did some pretty weird stuff. I’m still consider being irreverent a key to sticking out. It certainly has been with the recruiting business. I mean, I am definitely the salmon swimming alone upstream. I’ve made it my business model to cut through the corporate hiring process BS and just treat people like human beings...none more so than the left-handed… Don’t they already have it hard enough? Someone has to have mercy on them. Ever watch a left-handed person write something? It’s like watching a contortionist, but I digress.”

Countless times as a performer, Mitch successfully interviewed, was interviewed and auditioned for individuals, to individuals, small groups and large audiences. He has first hand knowledge of what works in those scenarios and what doesn’t work. More importantly, he’s sympathetic and understands how stressful job hunting situations can be. Mitch has learned how to overcome those fears, and will share his insight and experiences with your viewers/readers, teaching them how to overcome the challenges in the toughest job market since the Great Depression and he’ll make them laugh along the way.

Give your audience a break from the usual, dry-as-dust employment reports, and introduce them to Mitch Beck, a true original with a totally unique perspective.
