According to several news reports, the abysmal law and order situation in Karachi has affected Karachi real estate.
Lahore, Punjab -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/08/2012 -- As per some recent news reports, things have continued to look bleak for Karachi real estate. DHA Karachi, the plans for which were laid not too long ago, is struggling to live up to people’s expectations. As prices for Karachi rentals continue to falter, DHA Karachi’s commercial area has become the latest victim to go down the slippery slop to devastation. The condition of Pakistan real estate in general is not so healthy in the whole country but the failure of such a mega project in Pakistan’s biggest city has surprised many.
The rental prices for commercial properties on main locations such as boulevard and other market areas have dropped up to 30%. Many of tenants who had acquired properties in commercial area DHA renegotiated their deals and settled on lesser monthly rents. According to realtors and sellers dealing in properties of DHA and its nearby areas, some of the properties have undergone a thirty percent loss in their prices. This less than stellar performance of DHA, which is widely regarded as one of the best developments in the whole of the country, means more bad news for Pakistan real estate.
On the bright side however, the prices of residential properties in DHA are doing well. DHA is perhaps one of the very few areas in the city which is free of ethnic and linguistic violence. Also because of the fact that DHA has always been a name that represents class and luxurious living, the prices of residential Karachi real estate in DHA have been stable.
