Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/30/2012 -- Things aren't looking so good for employees of the Aberdeen distribution center at Saks Fifth Avenue. In fact, the company is set to lay off 223 employees, the equivalent of about one third of its workforce.

The lay offs will begin at the end of the month according to the New York Department of Labor. For the most part, these jobs are being moved to a brand new fulfillment center located in Tennessee for saks.com. More jobs are expected to leave the Aberdeen location.

For the most part, the employees have been caught off guard by this news. Thankfully, they are being provided with assistance for finding a new job as well as separation packages. Even so, that doesn't really make the blow any less painful. Thankfully, there are sites like EmploymentCrossing.com that make finding a job much easier, even in this troubled economy.

At the moment, there are over 100,000 customer service jobs on the site, so finding one position in your area shouldn't be too difficult. Plus, these positions often don't get as many applications as jobs posted on job boards, giving you a leg up on the competition.

Though the site is subscription based it's well worth it because you'll get access to less popular positions and be given the chance to have your resume viewed and considered more carefully.
