Fashion Show Photography – Shoot the Catwalk

Are you ready to enter the world of Milan Fashion Week? This course is your ticket to the show! Come and learn how to capture professional images at the shows of one of the most important event in the industry, Milan Fashion Week.

 

Milano, Italy -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/03/2010 -- During the first part of the course students will learn the key concepts of fashion, the elements of the fashion show, the shooting and post production techniques for producing high quality look-book and fashion show shots. Then students will prove their skills at the Milan Fashion Week where they will have the chance to attend and shoot the show.

This course offered by Istituto Italiano di Fotografia (IIF) & Istituto di Moda Burgo (IMB) will start on February 16 and will run over 8 days. (one and a half weeks, starting with a Welcome Reception on Wednesday afternoon and then courses Thursday-Saturday the first week; Monday-Friday the second week)

Hours of instruction
42 hours in total ( each day of instruction consists of morning and afternoon sessions
Morning session hours 9.30 – 12.30
Afternoon session hours: 14.30 – 17.30

The course will be held in English (there will also be a native English speaking tutor present during lessons )
Topics:
• Learn the Key concepts of Fashion;
• Learn about the elements of a fashion show and why they are important;
• Learn the Key concepts and techniques of fashion show photography;
• Learn lighting and exposure used in this genre of photography, including studio lighting for look-books;
• Learn retouching techniques used for fashion show photography aimed at publication in magazines and newspapers;
• Shoot multiple fashion shows, including a demo in the studio regarding Milan Fashion Week.

Cost of the course:
€ 1000 (IVA tax included)
Pre-requisites:
Students must have a basic knowledge of photographic techniques and ability to use camera manually (e.g.Knowledge of aperture, time, composition..)

Required Equipment:
• Digital SLR Camera Memory Card compatible with your digital camera.
• Battery compatible with your digital camera + battery charger (and adaptor to European power source, if coming from outside of Italy)
• Optional: USB Key or external hard disk esterno to facilitate transfer of images.

How to enroll:
• Fill in the Enrollment form online;
• Provide a copy of your passport (if coming from extra-European countries);
• Pay the course fee of € 1000 by 28 January 2011;

Number of Participants:
The number of places available is limited fot the course, so we recommend you enroll soon. The minimum number of participants for the course to start is 6 people. We will confirm by 14 January 2011 the initiation status of the course with the number of people enrolled so that travel arrangement can be made. In the event the course doesn't start, enrollment fees will be 100% refunded.

Payment for the course:
You can pay the course fee using one of the following modes of payment: cash, check, credit card, or bank transfer (for details on bank transfer and credit card payment see enrollment form.

Payment can be made choosing one of the following options:
• Option 1: Single payment of € 1000 on or before 14 January 2011;
• Option 2:, paying the full amount by 28 January 2011 or paying initial payment ( enrollment fee) of € 200 prior to 14 January 2011 and remaining amount of 800 by 28
January 2011

Cancellation:
Students may cancel their enrollment at any time. In the event of cancellation, enrollment fees are not refundable.
The amount of the course fee refunded will depend on the date of cancellation.
Refunds given upon cancellation
If the cancellation is communicated on or before 13 January 2011, 50% refund will be given
No refund will be given if cancellation is communicated on or after 14 January 2011.
