Online Entrepreneur Escapes London For Mountains of Mourne

A talented young interior designer has swapped the hustle and bustle of London to set up business where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea.

Newcastle, Northern Ireland -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/23/2011 -- Jodie Byrne, 25, had followed in the footsteps of the famous Percy French song by seeking her fortune in London but has now returned home to Newcastle, Co Down the place that inspires her the most to establish an online boutique - www.jodiebyrne.com - selling unique Danish home decor.

“You don’t have to live the big city life to run a successful business. Waking up every day to the beauty of the mountains and the rugged seascapes inspires the style of interiors that I have sourced for the online boutique,” Jodie said.

‘I have travelled extensively and love the wooden homes in Scandinavia and the shabby chic of homes in New England and I’m trying to put these looks together so that they are accessible to people in the UK and Ireland,” she said.

“The current collection offers understated elegance - it’s unpretentious simplicity that is bang on trend but it’s also classic and timeless,” she said.

Jodie graduated from Bucks New University in 2009 with a BA Hons in Textiles and Surface Design. During her studies, Jodie pursued a keen interest in interior design and printed textiles, publicly and internationally exhibiting her own designs at top industry Trade shows; Indigo Paris, Surtex New York and New Designers London.

The online shop includes an eclectic mix of country style furnishings with cutting edge industrial style home ware and vintage inspired looks including rustic pots, wooden stools, steel boxes, vases, clocks, quilted blankets and throws, vintage inspired tea sets and traditional cushions that would integrate into a variety of home styles.

“The online shop allows customers to browse through on trend interiors 24-7 - it’s so accessible and it gives you the chance to look at products and dream about how they’d fit into your own home,” she said.
