The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey Announces 35th Annual Statewide Conference

 

Hamilton, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/23/2017 -- The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ), a non-profit organization that connects problem gamblers and their loved ones with resources for support and treatment, as well as offers hope for recovery in the form of public outreach and education, announced the date of its 35th Annual Statewide Conference on Disordered Gambling.

"We're pleased to have the opportunity once more to host professionals who work with gamblers and help them further their efforts towards successful treatment," stated Neva Pryor, Executive Director of the CCGNJ. "We welcome anyone with an investment in gambling addiction recovery to join us on September 15th," she added.

Professionals in any field relating to gambling, whether advisors on state gambling boards or mental health professionals who help clients combating addiction, can mark their calendars for Friday, September 15th. On that day, CCGNJ staff and professionals invested in helping disordered gamblers recover from Atlantic City sports betting and other gambling addictions will convene at the East Windsor Holiday Inn for a full day of public presentations and workshops.

The theme of the CCGNJ's conference this year is "The New Frontier in Gambling Treatment." Keynote Speaker Dr. Marc Potenza and Plenary Session leader Dr. Alyssa N. Wilson will lead presentations, based on their own research, on the theme. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to attend workshops led by Jeffrey M. Beck, ICGC-II, BACC, J.D., ABD, Tony DeMarco, LL.B., J.D., Ph.D., DNGH, Sachin Karnik, Ph.D., LCSW, LCDP, CAADC, ICGC-II, and Jessica Alomar, LPC.
