3D Printed Model of London on Kickstarter

Launching on Kickstarter now: 3D Printed Models of London. Get one tile as a contemporary decoration or collect multiple tiles to create your larger area 3D city model. Available in two sizes and with future skyscrapers already built in.

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/26/2017 -- With 2,000 years of history and over 8.7 million residents, London is undoubtedly one of the capital cities of the world. And now - thanks to this 3D Printed model of London launching on Kickstarter - you can be among the first people to get your hands on your own little piece of this fantastic city.

"Working on digital 3D Models of London all our professional lives, we all fell in love with its ever-evolving skyline, its distinctive shapes and the architectural beauty of its landmarks and world heritage sites" says Milo Spisz, head of 3D Modelling at AccuCities, the company and team behind this project. "As our day job we capture digital 3D Models of UK cities for Architects, Planners and Construction companies. Having captured 25 square kilometers of London - and after many requests from our friends both in and out the industry - I am incredibly proud to introduce our 3D Printed model of London on Kickstarter."

The 3D Model is printed in 14 by 14 cm tiles and customers will be able to buy any part of the model as a stand-alone tile or connect multiple tiles to build a larger model. Tiles are fully modular and can be easily attached to each other using built-in magnets, hung from a wall or left on a table top as a contemporary decoration.

The 3D Printed model will be available in two sizes. Large model tiles have larger buildings and cover 500 by 500 metres of real-world London. Small model tiles cover a much wider area of 1,000 by 1,000 metres and therefore have smaller buildings. This allows you to chose a 3D print suitable to your needs, preference and available space.

"For our prototype we have 3D Printed 6 square kilometres - 24 Large model tiles and 6 Small model tiles", continues Milo. "All prototype tiles were 3D Printed here in London using professional SLA 3D Printers. What's more, with our background in city planning, we are able to include major consented and under-construction landmarks in our models. That means that our backers can get their 3D Printed model and watch the skyline grow into its shape."

You can back this project on Kickstarter from as little as £85 and each backer will get at least one 3D Printed tile of their choice from this 3D Model. 3 backers can even get a truly impressive £15,000 centrepiece model with 50% off. This planned huge model measuring 2.5 meters in length certainly wouldn't be out of place in a modern art gallery.
