Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/31/2015 -- While the event planning agency, ADVENT, is busy producing events throughout the year, such as festivals, fundraisers and company parties, they have been brainstorming the next details for the 2016 Annual Philadelphia Mummers Mardi Gras. Originally a popular Mummers tradition in New Orleans, the celebration was brought to the city of Philadelphia in 2014. Last year, the festivity was moved from 2nd Street, at the Piazza at Schmidts, to Main Street in Manayunk. With February almost six months away, the premier event and entertainment services of ADVENT have been anticipating the next Mummers Mardi Gras parade in Philly.
ADVENT takes pride in organizing and operating an old tradition filled with live music and amazing, colorful costumes. The purpose of the event is not only to entertain, but also to raise money for great causes, such as maintaining the Mummers tradition and supporting Susan G. Komen Philadelphia's initiative to find a cure for cancer. Every year, attendees of the event have the opportunity to join in the fun with the melodies of string bands and brigades as well as food trucks, store discounts, silent auctions, face painting and dancing.
The Mummers can't wait to march throughout the Manayunk neighborhood this winter season, complete with numerous performances and spectacular displays.
