As the Mummers are just two months removed from their march through the most historic city in the country, they are back to provide the city of Philadelphia with a new and exciting theme, mixing in a New Orleans tradition. This Saturday, March 1st, ADVENT is producing the city’s first Mummers Mardi Gras event. This six hour event will feature all kinds of acts from Mummers, bands, stilt walkers, magicians, dancers and more. Located on 2nd Street at the Piazza at Schmidts, the party will be hosted by Jacky Bam Bam of 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia and feature 7 bar stations, 4 food trucks, vendor and sponsor tables including Sugarhouse Casino, Freedom Taxi, Susan G Komen Philadelphia, Philabundance, Tony Luke’s and more.
A portion of the proceeds from all participating Mummers’ ticket and sponsorship sales will go back to supporting the biggest tradition in Philadelphia. Look out for the variety of food vendors and bars on-site at the Piazza in Philadelphia for delicious food and quality drinks. As Mardi Gras is known for their beads, stop by the various vendors and sponsors tables who will be giving away beads and prizes all day.
