Alberto Nacif Seeks Kickstarter Funding to Support His New Venture Aguanko Latin Jazz Orchestra

Having completed two successful recordings already, the Michigan-based Latin Jazz Septet Aguanko is now focused on doing a full Jazz Orchestra recording of their original music. Their funding requirement for this project is $25,000.

 

Ann Arbor, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/03/2016 -- Alberto Nacif is a Conguero and composer that has built a team of top-class musicians to perform his original music. Their very first recording titled 'Elemental' was launched in 2013 and remained on the national radio charts for four months. Alberto's second recording titled "Invisible" involved several guest artists including master trumpeter Marcus Belgrave (Ray Charles), Grammy winner bassist Robert Hurst (Paul McCartney, Sting), and Cuban singer Alberto Alberto (Maraca). This recording was also on the national charts in 2015.

Alberto Nacif's band of musicians, named Aguanko, now comprises of some of the area's most skilled Afro-Cuban and Latin-Jazz musicians. The interpretation of Alberto's original music by these musicians is evocative and sensuous, and true to its Cuban roots. With groundbreaking attention in the local and national scene, the live concerts of Aguanko have been highly appreciated by the capacity crowds.

Alberto Nacif is also a (Family Medicine) medical doctor, and it is said that the music he makes with Aguankó sounds healing, soulful, and life-affirming.

Now, Alberto's next target is to do a full Jazz Orchestra recording of original music. This recording concept will be titled "Pattern Recognition", and will strive to incorporate various Cuban Rhythms in Jazz and Blues, and will invite national and international Grammy winning musicians for this recording.

Alberto has recently started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for his upcoming Jazz Orchestra recording. This project will only be funded if at least $25,000 is pledged by March 17, 2016.

Alberto Nacif was born in the isthmus state of Oaxaca on Mexico's west coast where Cuban derived rhythms were part of everyday music. He began playing conga and bongo drums at a young age with local musicians in Mexico. He emigrated to Detroit, Michigan as a teen, and became involved in that City's Jazz, Disco and Latin music scene, playing in multiple venues. Alberto has played nationally and internationally with many musicians.
