American Horror Story Unauthorized Tour Available for Digital Devices

New Orleans, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/22/2015 -- Visitors and residents of New Orleans who love the popular television series American Horror Story now have access to the digital version of the New Orleans film locations. The American Horror Story Unauthorized Tour is available for Amazon.com Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook and Apple iBooks.

The third season of American Horror Story is based on the premise that during the witch trials of Salem—between February 1692 and May 1693—the real witches were shrewd and hid their identities so they would not to be caught. When the Salem witch hunt and trials began, the real witches got the hell out of Dodge and fled as far south as they could to New Orleans, which became the new Salem.

As the years passed, many families did not know they had witches in the family because it did not show up in every generation or every girl. Sometimes it skipped a generation. If you were a witch, you would be treated like you had a disease. It became known as the "affliction". Many families chose not to reproduce out of fear that they would have a child with the "affliction". Witches became a dying breed.

In 1790, a premiere girls' finishing school named Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies was established in New Orleans. These ladies were not witches. During the Civil War, the school became one of many makeshift military hospitals used to aid wounded soldiers. After the war, in 1868, the reigning Supreme of that time, prominent East Coast society matron Marianne Wharton, purchased the finishing school. She retained the name, Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, as a cover for the witches.

The witches living in the finishing school are Cordelia Foxx (headmistress), Fiona Goode (Cordelia's mother and reigning Supreme), Madison Montgomery (movie star), Zoe Benson (Salem descendant), Queenie (one of the only African-American lines of Salem witches) and Nan (origins unknown). The school is supposed to be a safe haven where young witches could gather to learn. Fiona, the reigning Supreme, has other plans for them. Because she feels her powers draining, she's looking for the witch who is the next Supreme so she can kill them and continue her reign as Supreme.
