Most metal finishers sell oxidized nickel plating as black chrome. However, this plating finish comes out to be a darker nickel with brown or yellow hues. These metal finishers have to apply a clear coat to prevent discoloration and further oxidation of the nickel.

The advantage of Classic Chrome Plating's true black chrome plating is that it is not like the other metal finishers' black nickel finishes. The end product will not discolor or scratch and does not need a clear coat.
