Approved Plans for NHS to Ban Surgery on Overweight Patients in Yorkshire: Bradford Hydroponics Comments

Bradford, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/06/2017 -- Obese people will now be Denied Surgery for 12 months unless they lose weight following a decision made by the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The approved move is massively significant as NHS bosses had previously ordered the measures were put on hold following a public Outcry but have now given it the go ahead from January onwards.

Their backing of the move means that health chiefs in other parts of the country are free to put similar restrictions in play.

However, Some people do not agree with the new rules and believe that if overweight people are being targeted now where will the rationing decisions fall next? Surgery on overweight people and smokers has increased risks long term to the patient which are nothing new, and these risks are leaving the NHS with a potential financial black hole along with various factors.

It is vital that those people refused surgery should receive help to lose the weight they need to improve their lives and be granted surgery in 12 months. Plans to introduce healthy eating and a well-balanced diet along with basic exercise should be all it takes to make a difference. But will this be implemented? A spokesperson for Bradford Hydroponics made a comment on the situation saying, "Introducing regular fruit and veg into a person's diet to replace sugary foods has a massive impact on their health and wellbeing. Quite often growing these plants yourself gives you a great sense of satisfaction when you come to eating them, and for many people that may be home bound with illness or health problems. Growing these vegetables can give them something to do during their days".
