Artist and Director Marina Abramovic Talks Health and Wellness on BodyStream

The renowned artist teamed with Celebrity Trainer Mark Jenkins to share her thoughts on the new app.

 

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/17/2014 -- Marina Abramovic, arguably the most well known performance artist of the modern era, turned her attention this week to another one of her passions: physical health. On the social fitness app BodyStream, Abramovic sat with her trainer Mark Jenkins (who also trains performers like Beyonce' and and LL Cool J) to discuss a range of health related subjects.

“[my]... fitness is absolutely crucial” Abramovic says in her multi-part series on BodyStream as she refers to her long and often grueling performance schedule. A schedule which can sometimes include installations of 3 months. The 67 year old artist is recognized for her boundary pushing exhibits which often include audience participation or well known subjects like Jay-Z and Lady Gaga.

Over the coming days, Abramovic and Jenkins will release more clips to complete a series that will give viewers insight into Abramovic's training, health philosophy and future plans.

BodyStream, which allows users to share fitness content like diets, workouts and progress pictures publicly or privately, has been gaining a strong following among both everyday people with a passion for fitness and the fitness elite. Big names in fitness like Oscar Smith (best known for training Victoria's Secret Angels and Tom Brady), Basheerah Ahmad (with clients like Steve Harvey and Carrie Underwood) and Jenkins have already become dedicated users of the app.
