Evans, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/15/2014 -- One might notice a bit of construction along William Few Parkway from now until the end of spring. In the later part of 2013, construction began to extend the road north past its current dead end at Riverwood Drive. When construction is complete William Few Parkway will meet Hardy McManus Road at the intersection of Grace Baptist Church.
For the residents of Highgrove, located just off Hardy McManus Road in Evans, Georgia, this new road is a welcome commodity. In addition to the convenience and accessibility of a shopping center, the final project will include a two-lane highway with a center turn lane. In addition, shoulders will be constructed wide enough so that they can be restriped to become a fourth lane if needed. The real centerpiece of this construction, however, will be a 600-foot-long bridge, which will extend across Euchee Creek.
School hour traffic jams are expected to clear up along William Few Parkway towards the end of construction, an improvement any local can appreciate. In addition to saving time, the road will also be safer with additional lights, roundabouts, sidewalks, and merging lanes. Other plans for William Few Parkway include installing a traffic signal on William Few Parkway at Lewiston Road and improving the intersection at Chamblin Road.
