When a bottle comes in front of a bottle sensor, an electrical signal is sent to the controller. The controller initiates the movement of a labeling head motor. The applicator pastes the label on the bottle. A label sensor detects the gap between bottle labels. The labeling head motor stops its operations temporarily when the label sensor detects a gap.

Bottles generally come in various shapes and sizes, made of different materials, having different applications. Bottle sticker labelling machine is used to label oval, pump, rectangular, water, medicine, wine and various other types of bottles. Labels are usually made of plastic or paper.

Semi-automatic bottle sticker labelling machine is used in low to medium volume labelling applications. In semi-automatic labelling applications, an operator positions the bottles that requires to be labelled and then actives a machine. Automatic bottle sticker labelling machine is used for high volume labelling applications and can be operated remotely. The automatic bottle sticker machine is connected to the production line. A conveyor belt takes a filled unlabeled bottle to the labelling position. When the unlabeled filled bottle is sensed by a sensor, a label is applied to a bottle and the conveyor moves a bottle for secondary packaging.

Pressure sensitive labeling machines are more used than glue labeling machines as they don't require use glue resulting in low operation and maintenance cost of the machine.
