California Winemaker Launches Unique Kickstarter Campaign

Building a Cask & Barrel Room With Donor Names

Newport Beach, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/11/2014 -- One California winery is growing and expanding. Orange Coast Winery near San Diego, California, is building a new barrel room and giving away lots of very special perks with a Kickstarter campaign they have launched.

This 'winery barrel cellar' is being created the walls lined with beautiful oak barrels & casks filled with Big Red ultra-premium wine. This oak barrels and oak casks will be of several sizes.

The Orange Coast Winery will then put the names of their "barrel room founders" on the containers which will be filled with delicious "Big Red" wine and, after a period of use of approximately one year, the empty smaller sized up to standard 59 gallon wine barrel containers with individual name tags on them will be sent home to the donor. The beautiful, clean oak barrels can be used for anything from being refilled with wine to making them into oak barrel furniture pieces. Larger oak casks with up to 1,000 gallon capacity will remain permanently in the new cellar with all contributors' names prominently displayed for visitors to see.

The Doug Wiens family have been in the wine business for a total of nearly 20 years, starting near Sacramento, moving through to Temecula, CA since 2004, and now their newest venture in Newport Beach since 2011. The barrel room space is already leased and ready to occupy. The family hopes to have this new room filled with beautiful oak barrels and casks with donor names on them by Valentine's Day, 2015.

Angel investors helping fund the Orange Coast Wine Barrels & Casks Project campaign to the next level will be eligible for perks such as thank yous, various size casks and barrels, wine glass pairs, t-shirts, hoodies, tickets to spring winemaker's dinner with the Wiens, plus more.

Douglas Wiens and the Orange Coast Wine Barrels & Casks team understand not everyone may be able to give money to help the Orange Coast Wine Barrels & Casks Project, so they ask that those who cannot give monetarily help by spreading the word about the Orange Coast Wine Barrels & Casks Project online through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr or record a video challenge for Vine, Facebook or Instagram to invite friends to give to or share this Kickstarter fundraiser.
