Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Third DLC Pack "Descent", Including Dragons, Hits Xbox One and PC

Following the game’s release on PlayStation 4 last month, Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Descent expansion, which includes dragons and robots, has been available for Microsoft’s video game console Xbox One and PC recently.

Shenzhen, Guangdong -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/15/2016 -- Originally released last month on Sony's PlayStation 4 (PS4), Call of Duty: Black Ops III's third expansion "Descent" is now available on Microsoft's Xbox One and PC. The third expansion features four new multiplayer maps: a remake of Call of Duty: Black Ops II's Raid map called Empire, a cryogenic prison, a Viking village and a robot fighting arena. The game has a brand-new chapter in the Zombies campaign, and players will have to fight against the undead and dragons. Yes, there are now dragons in Call of Duty.

Prior to this release on Xbox One and PC, there is a timed-exclusively deal that Sony has with Activision, which made Call of Duty debut on Sony's PlayStation platform rather than on Microsoft's Xbox One and PC. Sony's exclusivity deal with Activision on Call of Duty kept Xbox One and PC players waiting for a month to access Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Descent expansion.

Following the previous two expansions "Awakening" and "Eclipse", "Descent" is the third one of four planned expansions for Black Ops III, while the fourth one has not yet been announced. But the fourth expansion for Black Ops III is reportedly set to be released later this year before the next game in the series (Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare) which is set to be released on November 4th, 2016.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The latest expansion of this game is priced at $14.99, and it is also available through the $49.99 Black Ops III season pass.

Xbox One's upgraded version has been out on the market for a while, as Microsoft launched the sale of Xbox One S on August 2nd, 2016. People who just bought the new console might be wondering whether Xbox One S can play Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The answer is reassuring. Xbox One S can play all Xbox One titles, which means Xbox One S can play Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Unlike Xbox One, the successor supports HDR visuals for games, has full 4K support for Blu-ray and all compatible media playback, and can upscale games to 4K output. People who want to upscale Call of Duty: Black Ops III to 4K output can give Xbox One S a try, and of course, a 4K TV is also a must-have in order to enjoy 4K output.
