CPL Tech has revolutionized the standards for small pipe renewal in their latest work at SickKids Hospital, creating a new system similar to the ISO quality management standard.
Concord, ON -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/19/2015 -- Plumbing is essential to the sanitation and distribution of water and gas throughout almost every building on the planet. This piping is not invulnerable to damage, wear and corrosion. For hospitals, this can be an incredibly serious problem, as even small vulnerabilities could create major disruptions, and have dire consequences. Canada Pipe Lining Technologies recently completed a contract at SickKids Hospital, and in doing so, has raised the bar on restoration and renewal standards.
The new standards are similar to those of ISO standards for quality control and management, putting the emphasis on the manufacturing process as well as on the installation. By covering every level from the raw materials to the finished project, they have brought in quality standards more often seen in control plans, audits and training logs, and used these as a project management tool.
This enabled them to actively manage the communication and education of all the project's various departments, who had to work in unison in order to minimize disruption and complete the task as quickly as possible, covering no less than twelve floors of sanitary drains and structural liners.
A spokesperson for Canada Pipe Lining Technologies explained, "We are thrilled to have been so successful in this endeavor, and we are pleased to announce that SickKids Hospital has contacted us regarding further opportunities for work within the facility, thanks to the way in which we undertook the management of the project, not just the labor. We feel the new standards developed on this project will be invaluable for all residential and commercial renewal and restoration jobs we undertake in the future. This new system speaks to our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, and we look forward to helping more clients with their piping needs very soon."
