Canadian Actress's Emotive New Book Chronicles Story of Son's Near-Death Liver Disease, Her PTSD & Self-Created 'Program' for Recovery

Written from the heart by Louise Camilleri, ‘From Transplant to Transformation, The Journey of A Mother Who Gave The Gift of Life Twice’ is a potentially life-saving resource for parents of sick children, or those tackling any incarnation of disease or despair. Many know Camilleri for her glittering show business career, but this powerful story proves that life’s curveballs can literally hit anyone. Camilleri was once at rock-bottom but, having developed her own unique program for recovery, is now sharing it with the world so that fellow moms and dads can transform from victim to victor.

Toronto, ON -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/27/2014 -- When Louise Camilleri sat in hospital rocking her beautiful newborn baby son, she didn’t expect to be under the same roof just twelve weeks later donating him a portion of her liver. While this treatment was pioneering and life-saving, the stress of the situation spiraled Camilleri from a successful actress and new mom into a Post-Traumatic Stress-riddled shadow of her former self. As someone who always steals the show, Camilleri miraculously created a program of healing that would see her prosper once again. Her new book shares the entire story.

‘From Transplant to Transformation, The Journey of A Mother Who Gave The Gift of Life Twice’ is part memoir and part self-help book, taking readers on a journey from success to despair and back again.

Synopsis:

Louise takes you along on her journey through the heart breaking discovery of a Liver disease that threatened the life of her first son, to her dark period as she suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder during divorce, right up to the program that she created for herself that would transform her life and allow her to see the day that her son would be healthy enough to graduate grade 8 and get accepted into High School.

“I suddenly found myself as my son’s living related liver donor, with no information on what to do or where to turn.” says Camilleri. “Fourteen years down the road I have become acutely aware that millions of parents face plights similar to mine, as well as broader despair, anxiety and depression that can appear to have no way out. I know that my insights and story can help them find solace and redemption, so I am making the program I created available to the world via my new book.”

Continuing, “My son also steps in to share his side of the story. Doctors said he wouldn’t make it and here he is, now a young man, writing for a published book! Getting to this point has been far from easy, but our story will show other parents how they can do the same.”

Aside from her priorities as a mom and entertainer (in that order!), Camilleri has also embraced her entrepreneurial spirit to launch a range of natural health and beauty products.

“When my little boy was sick I came to realize the importance of 100% natural skincare products, so I literally began producing them at the kitchen sink. After in-depth study of the formulation process I formally launched my own line and founded the hugely-successful LC Natural Health & Beauty. Read about it all in the book; life has been quite hectic!” she adds.
