Cathryn A. Looks to Raise $30,000 via Kickstarter to Create Fashionable Diaper Bags for Moms Everywhere

Harrisburg, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- Cathryn A. Fisfis has immersed herself in fashion and design for nearly a decade and the dream of one day having her own collection is finally becoming a reality.

When Cathryn had her son 22 months ago, she realized the lack of options out there for new Moms. There were many diaper bags on the market but none that she felt were stylish. She then looked to handbags to fill the void and couldn’t find one that was functional enough to use as a diaper bag. Thus her idea to create fashionable diaper bags began.

Cathryn aims to design & produce diaper bags that have the aesthetic of a high-end handbag and once the bag is opened, realize it is a diaper bag; the perfect combination of fashion and function.

All funds raised will go towards Cathryn’s very first production run. Working within the US and with local manufacturers in New York City, can be costly. However, the end result is pure quality and supporting the economy. If Cathryn is able to hit her goal, it will cover the cost of getting the necessary dies made, leather imported, materials & hardware sourced and secured for production, as well as go towards the labor cost of the manufacturer.

Cathryn A. Fisfis graduated from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, NYC, with a BBA in Fashion Merchandising in 2006; she also studied Fashion Design at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. During college Cathryn interned at Barney’s New York, in Studio Services, styling and DKNY, in the Footwear & Accessories Design Studio.
