The CCTV footage mentioned shows the thief stealing the goods from right under the noses of two members of staff in the boutique jewellers and shows that over a two-and-a-half year period he took jewellery, clothing, bags and cosmetics from the upmarket store. Austin Caballero (the thief) has as a result been jailed for almost four years for over 40 counts of theft and one incident which involved a racially aggravated assault.
Although this news isn't positive, it does however show that CCTV systems are effective and therefore needed in as many places as possible – especially business environments and stores.
