CCTV for the Best in Building Security

Closed circuit TV monitoring provides the best possible building or home security

Culver City, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/30/2015 -- Banks have long known that video is the best way to provide constant security. Closed circuit camera TV (CCTV) covers the entire building and often the outside too.

Video can't prevent damage, loss or physical abuse, but it does prove the best evidence possible of what actually took place.

"We've seen time and time again that video of the scene makes all the difference in the world for an investigation. Clear images of people and what they are doing is exactly what law enforcement and insurance companies want to have," said William Cesan, president of Priority Communications, a CCTV provider. "It's not just about people breaking in and robbing. It's also about monitoring employees and customers."

With today's technology, the images these cameras capture can be streamed over the Internet. The raw video can be loaded over the Internet to a remote storage location nowhere near the building being protected.

Mr. Cesan said that's equally important in the case of catastrophic issues of break-ins. If burglars know they are being recorded, they'll often try to find the storage unit and take it with them. That eliminates any video record of them being present.

"When you have remote transmission or constant upload capabilities, thieves can't take the recording when they leave. They can trash the camera equipment, but your video is going to be safe miles away. You can put the unit in your home, another office or some other secure location well away from the building you're protecting," Mr. Cesan said.

Advances in the equipment are also providing a lot more detail than users expected in the past. The recording ability is also tremendously better than in the past, he said.

"We're digital. No more video tape and re-recording over and over on the same tape. Digital systems are now good enough and big enough to record several months to a year's worth of video on the first recording," he said. "This means you can monitor long-term what's going on."
