Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/06/2016 -- The two songwriters from Alum, Ithaca could not find the words to express their happiness and gratitude towards Cee Lo Green. The American soul music machine singer and rapper had recorded and released their song, Thorns, along with other awesome hits that include Mother May I and Music to My Soul in his fifth studio album, Heart Blanche, which was released last November.

For music producer, Alex Kresovich '08, being able to work with Cee Lo Green as a diehard fan, is a dream come true. The song was co-written with a friend, Sam Harris who wrote the verses for the song and helped in recording it in the van. Originally the song only consisted of the chorus, yet with the joint efforts of Kresovich and Harris to finish the song, "Thorns" has been created. While another key person worth mentioning and made the song possible was Hayden Frank, the bassist of a rock band X Ambassadors, who wrote the song's bass guitar line.

When the demo was completed in early 2014, the group hoped that Cee Lo Green would hear it. A label guy once approached them and promised to get the song to him. However, a year has passed but nothing happened. Yet, last January they heard from grapevine that Cee Lo Green was working on a new record as his comeback to the music industry and Kresovich took the opportunity to get the music to Green.

"I'm an email hustler," said Alex Kresovich '08 – that in order to get a hold of Green's attention to listen to their music, he get in touch with every important person who works for him. After some attempts, finally, they had heard back from the head of the management company of Green and from the Atlantic Records Talent chairman, who happened to like the song. The song had gone improvements to make it more radio-friendly that it ended up, even more soulful.

And now that the song has been released last November 6 with Cee Lo Green who did the song interpretation, along with other songs that were produced by some of the biggest names in the music industry, the two songwriters from Ithaca were delighted to hear their song in the airwaves and are very happy to be part of Cee Lo Green's comeback album. "It's been really cool to work with someone with a once-in-a-generation voice" added Kresovich whose music is largely inspired by a bunch of the '60s and '70s soul music.
