Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/09/2014 -- Stephen Coronel who was best known as the former guitarist of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley's pre-KISS band, Wicked Lester has been arrested for child porn offences. The former guitarist was arrested on 09/26/2014 by the Beaufort County sheriff's office on five counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The web based peer-to-peer web cam program, Chatrandom, helped catch Coronel when a moderator captured an image of a female child engaged in a sexual act.

With the help of the Chatrandom moderator, they were able to capture the IP address that the video stream was associated with and forward that information to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They contacted the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff’s office was able to pin point Coronel's physical address from his IP address.

A search warrant was issued and upon making contact with Coronel it was discovered that he was actively playing and/or uploading videos that depicted young children ranging in ages from 3-12 years engaging in sexual acts. Also found and seized in his apartment were three computers, seven external hard drives, three cell phones and numerous media to include flash drives, CDs and VHS tapes.

At the time, it had not been determined whether Coronel had anything to do with making or producing the videos that were seen playing or streaming, or if they were produced locally. The South Carolina Attorney General's Office is also involved in the case due to the high amount of materials collected and forensic analysis of the evidence. His bond was set at $20,000. One thing is known for sure if it wasn't for Chatrandom, Coronel may have never been brought to justice.
