As a CLSS-HC certification holder, Mr. Sierros has provided evidence of his education and experience by passing a rigorous examination required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as the certifying body. Mr. Sierros, who holds the graduate degrees of Master of Health Services Administration and Master of Science in Finance, has also earned the following professional certifications: Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), and Certified in Healthcare Privacy (CHP).
The Certified Life Safety Specialist (CLSS-HC) for Health Care Facility Managers credential is administered by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The CLSS-HC credential highlights a facility manager's knowledge of the many life safety challenges within a health care environment, and how to keep a facility in compliance with CMS requirements. The CLSS-HC certification is based on the 2012 edition of NFPA 101: Life Safety Code, one of the most important codes facility managers must interpret.
The goals of NFPA's CLSS-HC certification program are to:
