Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/26/2016 -- A Bastard to Paris is a very different type of film, whose creator says was made for those who work long hours and still struggle to make ends meet or to find the right relationship. The movie tells the story of William, a plant who falls in love with a human and is unable to make her understand. It serves as an allegory for all who struggle with seemingly insurmountable problems. Now, Jiahao Hou, the film's creator, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise production funds.
According to Hou, "A plant, William, a broadleaf bonsai, hooks up with a young lady, Emily, in a plant store. They go home together. William is hesitated to express his love; therefore, he misses the best time to move forward with Emily. What will be there for them? Relationship drama has never been simple.
The money raised from the Kickstarter campaign will be used to pay for production costs for the film. Hou, who has been screened and received awards at numerous film festivals, has already lined up a complete roster of talented producers and designers to create the content for the film, including Xiaoyun Lao, producer; Anatolli Sakhno, director of photography; Leota Rhodes, playing the role of Emily; Jordan Chyzowski as William; Jacob Young as Charles; Tongrui Song, production designer; and Zhikun Yu, assistant director.
The Kickstarter campaign, as seen at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1287506208/a-bastard-to-paris, offers pledge levels from $3 to $3,999, with prizes ranging from thank-you notes to production credit in the film.
