Toronto, ON -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/19/2015 -- Dumb Luck is a film about Brandon, an intelligent, sensitive and bullied teen who also happens to win a lottery. This miracle is seen as a great event by most, but it turns out to be anything but a blessing as the twists and turns of this dark tale unfold. The film has already been taped; now, the creator of Dumb Luck has launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds to pay post-production costs for the film.
As seen at www.DumbLuckTheMovie.com, Dumb Luck tells the story of 18-year-old Brandon who wins big when he buys his first lottery ticket. However, this event leads to numerous problems as he sees the relationships around him changing due to his "dumb luck." Featuring Dylan Everett of Degrassi: The Next Generation and Supernatural as Brandon, the movie co-stars Adam Copeland of Haven, Highlander: Endgame and WWE superstar Edge; Ana Golja of Degrassi: The Next Generation; and Mackenzie Munro of The Borgias.
The story is based on a book by award-winning author Lesley Choyce and is directed by Jonathan Popalis. The film is being produced by Pasha Patriki and Aaron Yeger. Yeger also wrote the script with Jonathan Popalis, an award-winning commercial direction with dozens of awards. Yeger's production credits include "People Uncounted" and "Sleeping Giant," which was featured at the 2015 festivals at Cannes and TIFF. Patriki is a famous cinematographer and producer whose credits include more than 15 feature films such as Gridlocked, Full Out, Hacker and Tapped Out. He also holds the 2013 award from CSC for Best Cinematography.
