Taoyuan, Taiwan -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/26/2015 -- Many students dislike school because they feel they are not learning anything in exchange for their compliance with a multitude of rules. Now, the creators of a new idea in education, a school with no teachers run completely by students, have launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds to make their dream a reality. This school would allow students to teach each other and run their own school without the traditional teacher/student model.
The No-Teacher School is a concept developed by a group of concerned parents and educators who want children to have the opportunity to develop a love for learning. With these new opportunities, students will learn more and will be happier with their education, inspiring a desire to pursue further education in the future.
"School is made up of students. Why not give students a chance to handle their classes? This is the idea behind the dream school: giving students a chance to run their school," say the creators of this innovative plan. Students would be allowed to design their own courses, teach others their favorite subjects, create student societies, give speeches, organize events and participate in activities. "Learning is important, but learning happily is more important than learning itself," note the program creators. "With a non-stereotyped approach, students will learn more and gain a deeper understanding of subjects. They will have the opportunity to share their own knowledge while learning from others who excel in different areas."
The IndieGoGo campaign, located at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wow-a-dream-school-without-teacher#/story, offers pledge levels ranging from $20 to $10,000 and prizes including the opportunity to have the donor's name and picture posted at school.
