Crowdfunding Campaign Seeks Donors to Help Solve Nationwide Hunger and Food Waste

Chicago, IL -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/02/2015 -- Glen Fejdasz is man from the Chicago, Illinois area who after taking notice at how much food is being wasted and ending up in landfills decided to develop a solution by combining existing processes that will in many ways counter the issue of food wastage through a simple yet creative answer that involves producing high quality soil by using worms and the wasted food. The process will in turn also help to direct 'edible food' to local area Food Banks and provide an employment opportunity for many. Glen decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign titled: 40% Food Waste + Worms = Black Gold + Feeding others, to raise the funds required to put his plan in to action.

Through the crowdfunding campaign Glen hopes to highlight the serious problem of food wastage and hunger in the world. He informs: "In 2015, the G20 (via the United Nations) estimated 1.3 billion tons of food, or roughly 30 percent of global production, will be lost or wasted annually. In the United States alone, it is estimated more than 20% of all landfill waste, some even as high as 40%, are a result of organic waste, including food, each and every year. And according to the World Hunger Organization, using their latest released figures, there were at least 45.3 million American people living in poverty."

He believes that within the problem of food wastage lies a business opportunity which when combined with hard work, networking, creativity and the support of the environmentally and socially conscious people from around the world he can not only counter the problem but also provide many other added benefits. The project is in need of the assistance of the generous online crowds who understand the dire situation of the food wastage scenario and realize the need for combined support for the development and sustenance of solutions that protect the world in the present and pave way to a better future for the coming generations.

The crowdfunding campaign, depending on the campaign site, offers a variety of different rewards and perks to prize the generosity of those who support the campaign and the project through their monetary contributions the rewards will include specially designed and manufactured items which will be given according to the amount of money pledged. There are limited qualities of the special rewards items.
