DimensionU's $50,000 Scholarship Recipient Selects University of Florida

Florida High School Graduate, Zachariah Chou Starts College with DimensionU Scholarship Funds

 

Fort Lauderdale, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/09/2016 -- Award-winning, educational video-game developer DimensionU, Inc., announced today that it's winner of DimensionU's 2011 National Scholarship Competition, Zachariah Chou, heads off to college this summer with his DimensionU scholarship in hand, helping pave the way towards his future career endeavors. Mr. Chou, a recent graduate from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida took first place at the live finals event in New York City back in May 2011, while attending Silver Trail Middle School of Broward County Public School District. He was awarded a $50,000 college scholarship and $1,000 in cash from DimensionU, Inc. Additionally, Chou was awarded a trip to Las Vegas to attend the iHeartRadio Music Festival, a prize contributed by former Lady Gaga manager, Mr. Troy Carter.

As a 7th grader, Chou discovered DimensionU, while volunteering at the Southwest Regional Library in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where access to DimensionU games had been enabled through an academic alliance between DimensionU, Inc., Broward County Public Schools and the Broward County Public Libraries.

"My scholarship from DimensionU completely changed the game in terms of paying for college. I am infinitely grateful for their personal support and also their overall work in promoting the next generation of education," said Chou.

Chou, starts college this June at the University of Florida, where he plans to dual major in Journalism and Political Science with a minor in Public Leadership.
